🔗 The Instagram Changes Are Not Enough

> I think the solution to keep minors safe on social media requires a combination of social media companies, hardware companies, and parents.

It’s easy to point the finger and demand a Government response to the growing issue of online safety for kids on social media, and of course they should play a part in it.

However, as we are the ones that buy our kids mobile devices that access these social media networks, we need to take responsibility and be the ones that are managing how our kids are accessing these ones.

I’m not kidding myself for one second thinking that our kids won’t try and find a way around whatever restrictions we apply, but if we’re not trying and we’re just passing the buck, then what example are we setting for our kids.

🔗 WordPress.org bans WP Engine, blocks it from accessing its resources

> WordPress drama went up another notch on Wednesday after WordPress.org, the open-source web hosting software, banned hosting provider WP Engine from accessing its resources.

Well that escalated rapidly!

You’d hate to be a WP Engine customer at the moment, caught in the middle of the drama, not being able to auto-update plugins, wondering whether to move to a different host, or even a different platform!

This will get worse before it gets better and I’m not confident WordPress or WP Engine will make smart decisions here.

⚽️ Frustrating that Arsenal and Manchester City played out a draw, whilst Liverpool won against Brighton… Now Arsenal need to win everything and hope Liverpool drop points.

Confession time, I never saw The Sopranos. I think I might watch it, apparently it’s quite good. 🤪

⚽️ Super impressed with how the Newcastle Jets played last night against Sydney FC. The lads looked dangerous throughout the match and were probably a little unlucky not to walk away with the win.

Love the effort and energy that Pappas has brought to the squad. Actually makes me want to watch the Jets play!

🏀 Patty Mills has without a doubt been the best pickup by any NBA team in the offseason. If the Nets can get their other stars to perform consistently they’re going to be tough to beat.

⚽️ Arsenal are going to need to work out how to defend from set pieces around the 18-yard box, and they’re going to need to work out how to actually score. I don’t think Brentford were that good today…but Arsenal were definitely that bad!

⚽️ Arsenal’s marking on that throw in was a joke, 2 at the back post wide open. Leno stuck in a wrestle, but no one comes to help. 🤯<

⚽️ Ugh…in the opening 5 minutes, Arsenal look like the team that was promoted to the Premier League, not Brentford. 🤦‍♂️
